Stein Hall memorializes St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. Born Edith Stein to Jewish parents in Breslau, Germany, St. Teresa Benedicta converted to Catholicism in 1922 and entered the Carmelite Order in 1933. She was martyred in Auschwitz in 1942. Pope John Paul II beatified her on 1 May 1987, and canonized her on 11 October 1998. Stein Hall was dedicated on May 6, 1988.
